WHAT WE DO AND HOW WE DO IT...
Each project is unique to client and site which is reflected in the services we provide and the design fees charged.
Broadly speaking though, our process is rooted in three guiding principles - the 'three C's'
CONSULT, COLLABORATE & CREATE.
INITIAL CONSULTATION
& SITE VISIT
The first stage of the process is for us to visit to look at your garden and discuss your requirements. This is an opportunity for you to share your ideas with us and for us to find out more about you and your garden. It will also give us an idea of your overall budget. Following this meeting we will send you our fee proposal which will outline our design fees for the services you have requested.
TOPOGRAPHICAL
SURVEY
It is advisable to obtain a topographical survey of your garden for us to work from which includes any levels, services and existing trees and structures in the space. We can provide recommendations for land surveyors in your area. In addition, we undertake our own site analysis to ensure that we have assessed all potential opportunities and limitations of the space.
OUTLINE PLAN
The outline plan is presented as a 2D scaled drawing showing you how the final garden will look. Our designs are created using CAD software and we include mood boards and visuals. 3D renders and animations can also be included to help you visualise the garden from different angles, and night renders to show how the lighting brings the garden to life.
FOR THE BUILD
Once the outline design has been approved, we draw the plans up in detail to enable the contractor to quote and build from. This will include a Master Plan, Setting Out Plans, Elevation Drawings and Construction drawings as required. We don’t employ our own contractors but we have excellent links and can help select the most suitable one for your garden build. If you require, we can also prepare all the tendering documentation needed for obtaining quotes. This ensures fair price comparisons are made for all contractors and that the garden is built exactly as expected.
PLANTING DESIGN
Plants are an integral part of any garden design. Whether you want new planting beds to complement your new garden, or simply want to revitalise your existing beds, we will design a planting plan to create the overall ambience you are looking for. As well as showing exactly how the plants will be arranged in each bed, a planting schedule will detail the quantity, botanical name and size of plants required. We also offer a full plant supply and planting service.
PROJECT MONITORING
Making sure that building work progresses to plan can be a full-time job. Without someone to ask the right questions and oversee the build, projects don’t always go to plan and can get delayed. We are available to monitor all works to completion, ensuring that your build is finished to a high standard, to agreed timescales and to budget.
We can also handle all liaison with architects, council officers, contractors and other professionals for you.
AFTERCARE
Landscapes and gardens are living things, they take time to establish, grow and develop. We can advise you by working with your gardener or appointing a maintenance team to providing a month by month gardening guide to help ensure your plants thrive.
GARDEN ENHANCEMENT
If you'd like to get more out of your garden or outdoor space without major re-modelling work, maybe you should consider our GARDEN ENHANCEMENT service.
We can visit your garden and walk around with you, perhaps looking at parts you find challenging, particular areas you'd like to focus on or we can give an overview of the whole space.
We can provide a REPORT of the visit with recommendations and suggestions, including planting and management advice, as well as weblinks and recommendations of suppliers.
The report would be tailored to your specific site and preferred garden design styles then provided digitally.
