Like many new-build houses, this garden was a completely blank canvas save
for three conifers, and a tiny patio and lawn. Our client wanted a contemporary
courtyard-style garden where she felt enclosed and screened from her neighbours, with a larger patio and structural planting. All woodwork was painted a pale grey, including a pergola, and standard Photininas and Robinias provided height and screening.
